The Estate

At the foot of the Pentland Hills, just 20 mins from the centre of Edinburgh, Glencorse House and Old Kirk is a country estate set in acres of secluded parkland.

A landscape rich in stories and history, today Glencorse is a privately owned family home whose grounds are offered exclusively for one-of-a-kind weddings and events.

The Old Kirk

Glencorse Kirk dates back to the 17th century and the famous Scottish writer Robert Louis Stevenson worshiped there and indeed wrote about the Kirk and its woodland setting on a number of occasions.

Having been lovingly restored by the current owners, the Old Kirk is one of the focal points of the estate and is available to use during weddings for both religious and non-religious ceremonies, for smaller celebrations such as vow renewals or handfastings, or even as the venue for spectacular dinners.

A Blank Canvas

From the Old Kirk itself, to the wonderful grounds including the picture-perfect lake, marquee and gardens, Glencorse House estate is a versatile 20-acre canvas for your imagination.

The Old Kirk has even featured in the world famous Outlander TV Series, providing the setting for characters Claire and Jamie to tie the knot in Season 1.

We welcome visitors to Glencorse House and Old Kirk, and are happy to explore transforming the estate into film and photo-shoot locations on a bespoke basis so please do contact us to find out more.
